Since 2006, the
Educational Theatre Co. of
Northern Arizona has been providing support for theatre in primary and
secondary education while creating a friendly environment for all theatre
majors alike.
's mission is to give theatre majors the opportunity to work with
children in classroom settings while making a contribution to the world of
theatre by spreading the joys of live performance and creating lovers of the
art. It is the continuing goal of the Educational Theatre Co. to cultivate
the love of theatre in today's youth so that they may become tomorrow's
talent.
Several years ago, lasting only a single semester, NAU had an
'educational theatre' based group. Youth Education Through Theatre (YETT)
was created, but was never successful. Their enthusiasm for spreading
theatre throughout the Flagstaff area is still seen in the hallowed halls of
NAU.
Through community out-reach programs such as the Kaleidoscope
Project™ and other various fundraisers, the
Educational Theatre Co. is able to reach their goals of making a difference.
is always looking for ways to better our community and would like to hear from those who live in the community who are looking to make a difference.
Our events are always open to the public and would love for the community to
join our efforts by bettering both the community and the future.
